They aren't building a new stadium, they are replacing a concrete ring and placing a cover over an opening.

This should not take 4 years. Even an office tower wouldn't take that long. So something is not adding up here.

There is no hole to dig, no excavation. They must be saying 4 years so as to make a future announcement more of a surprise.

There will have to be additional upgrades like new seating, lighting and sound baffling so that will boost the cost.

They just didn't announce this at the same time as the roof so as to not over inflate the cost.

BC Place spent $ 200 million additional over and above their roof.

This won't end with just a roof.

The Olympic Stadium people will be courting Beyonce, Ed Sheeran's and Taylor Swift's management people for a future concert date.

Saputo won't put up with his team being locked out of the stadium for 4 years.
