Are there any comparable approaches to a city skyline in the US? The most dramatic one I can think of is in Pittsburgh as you exit the Fort Pitt tunnel.

After Rainey jumps out at you while driving in from the south, a look down the river towards the western side of downtown really pops with the Sail and Independent and surrounding towers.
Pittsburgh is the only other U.S. city that I could think of with the "bam effect". But I'm sure there are others.
