One of those weather record accounts posted that the high at Shearwater was only +1.7 on November 1 and this was the coldest November 1 on record in the city, looking at records going back 150 years (probably not at Shearwater but going to other older weather stations for older dates).
The trend seems to be somewhat warmer weather overall with more extreme events, or at least this past year seems like it had a lot of freak extreme cold and drought/rain events.
