Good time to invest in farmland in Huntley or Hampshire... all those new factory workers will need a place to live. That plus the new Metra service to Rockford, and things are looking up for the I-90 corridor.
Unfortunately as vast as Chicagoland already is, these manufacturing investments keep going to the urban fringe and fueling the sprawl machine. Meanwhile, to the extent we have brownfields they are getting snapped up for e-commerce warehouses that don't create many jobs and certainly don't create well-paying jobs.
