New photo of the PIX.
Here's an amazing slide (dated 1962) of the PIX Theater in Hollywood.
..I'm almost certain it's new to NLA.
...The beautiful parts of the theater were subsequently (and inexplicably) COVERED IN TIN.
eBay
(I think it sold already)
The reason I think it's new to NLA - - > The slide isn't included in the large number of photographs and newspaper articles at
cinematreasures. (it probably will be now
)
. .included that is.
Here's a bit of interesting history that mentions a rooftop speakeasy during prohibition.
cinematreasures
This must be the rooftop area referred to as "a speakeasy".

And here's how it looks today.
I want to go there & have a drink.
Who wants to join me?
And from above. (note how large the 'back-of-the-house' area is / it almost looks like a mini-skyscraper)
GSV Link / PIX Theater, 6126 Hollywood Blvd. (sadly
, the beautiful front is still covered in tin)
Visit
