I can't find any information online about syndicated mortgages being shut down by regulators in Ontario or elsewhere in Canada. There's nothing illegal or shady about syndicated mortgages. They're high risk unregistered investments. If you're willing to invest in such a security, and you don't know the risks, then that's your problem as the investor. Lamb really hasn't done anything wrong on that front. It's a smart way for him to finance his projects in a way that also allows people to make money off it.

I really don't like how some people try to make developers out to be the bad guy. It's generally the same people who complain that we 'need more housing!'
