The Trump Organization is set to construct its first tower in Australia, a colossal A$1.5 billion ($1.06 billion) development that its creators anticipate will become the nation's tallest building.

Planned for the Gold Coast, a popular coastal destination in Queensland, the 91-storey skyscraper will rise in Surfers Paradise.

Local property developer Altus Property Group confirmed the project will feature a "six-star resort-hotel", 270 luxury apartments, retail outlets, a beach club, and a swimming pool.
Quote:

"Australia’s tallest building will be a Trump Tower, right in the middle of Surfers Paradise – it’s great for Queensland tourism, and fantastic for Australia," the company stated.

They added: "It won’t have a Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton brand above the front door, but it will say ‘Trump’. And that means it is a no-expense-spared, highest-possible-quality building – the best in the world."

Good idea but the branding is Toxic...

We're sorry mates.

NYguy Feb 24, 2026 1:20 PM

Well, we’re here to talk about the skyscraper, so lets leave it at that.

Also, this may not be the tallest.

The top is as tacky as they come. Looks casino-ish.

I can't believe Australia is allowing the "Paedo Tower" to go ahead.

sentinel Feb 24, 2026 10:57 PM

Compared to the other towers around it, this looks so so bland.

Hudson11 Feb 25, 2026 1:29 AM

wouldn't be shocked with the gold cladding if the 'big man' had input on the design.

Triple_Sim Feb 25, 2026 12:46 PM

Nice building IMO, though as others have mentioned, it’d be better/cleaner looking without the tacky huge sign.

I can only assume they will push for a 2032 completion ahead of the Brisbane Olympics.

It was just announced. Nothing has been submitted to the city and most Aussies are not a fan.

There's already strong opposition:

What's the approval process in Aus? I suppose it's like here, it has to comply with a bunch of requirements from the city. If zoning allows that height, I don't think there's too much the local NIMBYs can do about it, Trump or not.

Triple_Sim Feb 26, 2026 5:04 PM

And it's the "Gold" Coast, they can't complain about the local Trump-branded building being gold-plated, no? :haha:

(If that's what the final design ends up looking like...)

Busy Bee Feb 26, 2026 5:44 PM

What I find endlessly mind boggling is that Uday and Qusay and the rest of the Trump Organization enterprise seems to be completely unaware how increasingly toxic the Trump brand is and will continue to become outside of a few corrupt regions of the world like Russia, Central Asia and similar despotic realms.

MolsonExport Feb 26, 2026 6:30 PM

Don't do it, mates. You don't want that horrible name in the sky over your city.
