It will be nice to have that empty lot filled in.

Reminds me of the RBC Building on Portland St except with smaller windows

It does have an institutional look. Particularly the "band" of windows in the middle portion.

I am not sure it will be extremely beautiful but it's pretty substantial and given the construction happening, it seems the whole of downtown Dartmouth is going to shift a bit in feel. That stretch of Portland St was more or less just small residential buildings and Dartmouth used to have a small town feel with some shops and a couple aging office blocks.

I haven't been back in a while but it looks like large portions of the city aren't just getting the odd infill building but are completely shifting in feel. And some older areas that used to be patchy, like downtown Dartmouth or around Gottingen, are getting filled in a lot more.

I’m surprised that the church hall opposite Moffats has been for sale for a while and had not sold.

I’ll be surprised if the landmark historic church isn’t slated for redevelopment one of these days.

The church has a small digger going around the foundation, which they would do if there is a plan to keep it going.
It’s a shame that there is a demolition plan for the manse, it’s in some of the oldest photos of Dartmouth.
