North America highrise construction map
North America highrise construction map
https://i.postimg.cc/c1cZCb7t/pc13lwjtyapc1.jpg https://www.reddit.com/r/skyscrapers/comments/1bilupx/does_your_city_have_any_highrises_under/ I thought this forum would find a lot to talk about from this map. |
What does the size of the bubble represent? I'm assuming population, but it seems like it would be more useful if it represented the number of highrises under construction. Still though, very cool map! Thanks for sharing!

There's nothing U/C in Las Vegas??
|
10 stories seems extremely granular lol. Did you do a count by city for that or just checked to confirm if there are some under construction. There must be at least 20 under construction at that height in my neighborhood alone.

Very cool! I think the size of the bubble represents population.
Not to be picky because I don't expect the original poster to know every city, but it just bothered me there's a few missing cities in FL lol. Bradenton - (12 floors) Nine 20 Manatee Lake Park - (24 x 2 floors) Nautilus 220 Naples - (15 floors) Ascent at Metropolitan Naples Estero Bay (22 x 2 floors) Ritz-Carlton Residences, Estero Bay Dania Beach - (13 floors) 101 Dania Beach Ojus - (15 floors) Modera Aventura Clearwater Beach - (16 floors) Alanik Hotel Davie - (12 floors) NSU Academical Village Also I thought San Francisco had one 150m building U/C? But I might be wrong. |

I did not create the map, just sharing it here |
I was referring to the original poster on reddit, sorry I should've clarified
|
It would have been nice to also have a 200m dot. There's quite the gulf between 150m - 300m.
|
The population of Toronto proper overtook Chicago proper a few years ago. Maybe that map is referring to the region.

An excuse to go to Sac, excellent. The courthouse was completed and at some point there's a hospital being built in downtown but dunno how tall. There was also a project I think in West Sac attached to the calpers or calstrs building, but it must have finished. Might not be tall enough like what they are building around the UCD Medical Campus.

With the 10 floor cutoff it’s missing quite a few in Ontario as well. Kingston and Oshawa at the very least have a 20 storey under construction and I believe St Thomas, Windsor, and a few others may be scraping into the 10 storey number right now as well.

It looks like Miami Manhattanization has entered phase 2.
|
It's missing the 14 floor Caesar's Palace Hotel under construction in New Orleans.
|
Neat map. Waste of time to create. Someone will always point out some missing 10 to 20 storey building over the effort
There's a sub forum to submit missing buildings so they appear the next time this Reddit user familiar with the Greater Toronto Area updates the map. |
I feel like Wikipedia would be a good site for a continuously updated and thoroughly moderated map. Anything compiled by one person or even a small group is likely going to be inaccurate unless you're only looking for tall buildings UC (i.e. >500ft)

Grand Rapids has a 16 story tower under construction.

I found the version of the map that is for number of high-rises under construction: https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/attachment...3/?hash=7da40c6edc599e4485a22fbab2e9a7fb 3D |
Absolutely insane what is happening in Miami right now for a city of only 450,000 people.
