100 McAllister - Decades ago I was in what was once the church within the building, for a play. The whole part of the space was painted black, therefore I could not tell how much was visible them. Yes, it will be interesting to see if the space is open to the public.

^^The surface treatment is quite different and the features that resemble Trinity, the cut-outs, are fairly common in buildings such as the Salesforce building on the northeast corner of 3rd & Mission and the 5M project.

Actually, Arquitectonica helped popularize them so in that sense there's a connection. They got most famous for their giant square holes in buildings (a feature that was "value engineered" out of Trinity).

I certainly wouldn’t say they look nothing alike and see multiple similarities. Yes, I was aware they are designed by different architectural firms. Arquitectonica also designed Lumina, 33 Tehama, Linea, Avalon Mission Bay, Olume, One Mission Bay, Austin, and 655 Folsom. All are here in San Francisco, some good and others not so much.

I think Pedestrian was saying that Arquitectonica designed both Trinity and Infinity but they look nothing alike despite being the same firm.

Don't feel bad! It's not just you. The effect of pulling apart of the upper portion from the lower is one that Arquitectonica often uses.

Sorry, but Andrew was right. I was saying I don't think the 2 Arquitectonica projects don't look much alike. I'll agree with many that the UC building looks a lot more like Trinity than Infinity does. But again, I think the surface treatment makes a lot of difference.

But in the end, it's a point only us geeks would debate.

Wow, never would I have thought to see a pic of 3rd & Mission on this forum after completion. I used to work there just 2 years ago, heh
