AUSTIN | 410 Uptown | FT | 16 FLOORS | DEMO
Noticed we don't have a thread on this one.
http://www.410uptown.com/home.php https://images1.loopnet.com/i2/owapn.../112/image.jpg Spotted some activity on site today, though I'm not sure if it means anything significant. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7889/...5d85ca41_h.jpg Untitled by Darius Fontenette, on Flickr |
Looks like a pretty generic blue glass rectangle, but at least it seems to have decent street-level interaction, and it adds some much-needed density to that area.

For those who have been debating what to call this area ( which makes me laugh).... note the name!

I am SHOCKED this didn't have a thread going. I love uptown too....would kill to see a slender tower go up there soon.
|
Wow only in crazy under construction Austin would we casually not have a thread for this lol

I have to agree with you.... out to the burbs with all of you drive thru chains . ( and just plain away with Bigot-fil-a ) And 7-11 has just become an urban magnet for panhandling and homeless. Away. From a more realistic standpoint, I bet that suburban strip will last another 10 years before the area gets totally redeveloped. Just a guess. |
Chick-fil-a is delicious. Huge fan of theirs.

The original floor count I have for this is 16. I haven't seen any elevations of it and I'm not sure the site plan is active, so it's a been a little bit off my radar.
By the way, this is a quote of Urbannizer's post from last May. It doesn't look like much has changed on the site. Quote:

http://www.410uptown.com/images/prop...Brochure_4.pdf As for Chik-fil-a and Canes, they both need to be the first to go. Even with two lanes, the drive thru for Chik-fil-a gets ridiculous and spills out onto MLK. It’s the only one centrally located and with no indoor dining many in the immediate area drive instead of walk, just for a bite. The two add a lot of traffic to an already congested intersection during rush hour. Both chains are so use to the suburbs I bet they didn’t even consider an urban format. As Kevin said in another thread, official Downtown boundary lines north is to MLK, meaning both are actually drive-thru chains within Downtown. I think student housing is most suitable for both sites. |
The only permits I ever recall seeing were for the demo. This project has been somewhat of a mystery.

There's a pickup truck out on this site this morning. Can't really tell what they are doing out there but it's the first activity I've seen out here in a while.

The brochure also mentioned a future hotel by Chameleon Hotel group. Anyone here know anything about that? |

EDIT: I should add that the Chameleon Hotel Group is one of the developers of the Courthouse which is misleading. |
Thanks!
