JERSEY CITY | Harborside Plaza 4 | 450 FT | 38 FLOORS
Mack Cali and SJP Properties are gearing up to develop a 1.2 million sqft office tower called Harborside Plaza 4 at the corner of Columbus and Hudson.

It looks like office development will follow as vacancy rates along the waterfront is dropping and rents are rising. |
Incredible. Further adding to that JC list that you created in the compilation. 1.2 mil-sq ft is quite a large tower. Anything really over 1 mil sqft merits attention.
99 Hudson is 1.1 mil-sq ft. This will be quite bulky if it's around 450-500 ft @ 1.2 mil sq-ft and about half the height. Also, look at its position relative to 99 Hudson: http://i.imgur.com/Ygx3mHV.jpg Compare to: http://www.yimbynews.com/wp-content/...n-Street-1.jpg |
38 stories and 450 ft was the original designated height, but the original plan also included Harborside 6 and 7 with a smaller 20 story #6 and a nearly 60 story, 800+ft #7... now of course the lot where those two towers were designated is being developed into roughly three residential towers at 700 ft each, with one currently near completion with its exterior. Since this is likely to be the only remaining commercial lot developed in the Harborside designated lots(across by the Harborside #10 there is a lot for Harborside #8 and #9, both likely to become residential/hotel)wondering if it may turn out that Harborside #4 may turn out taller?
Is this a definite go? I linked and didn't see anything clear about a definite construction anytime soon. Looking at the render comparing it to Harborside 5 to the right it does look broader but somewhat taller as well, and I believe #5 is about 480ft? This looks a good 600ft in comparison at least. |

It's not really iconic but it's very nice. At officially 40 stories, probably about 500 ft or so as Harborside 5 is listed at 34 stories but 485 ft... so definitely going to be in that range at least. Top of the line technologically, communications, amenity wise and environmentally with sizable first floor retail component it will be a welcome addition to the skyline and a great alternative office choice for those who don't want to deal with New York City office rents. Hopefully there's tenants in line soon...when is the groundbreaking hoped for? There was nothing about that.

Perfectly okay, I suppose.
But how is this the first commercial tower in two decades? The Goldman Sachs building was built in 2008-ish, no? |
