EM is unveiling its new model next month, named Solo.

From CBC article :

The first completed ‘Solo’ will be unveiled next month in Vancouver with a price tag of around $20,000.

It has poor range, low speed, looks weird, and is impractical. Sorry, an electric car will not succeed following this model. Just because they are making an electric vehicle does not mean that they are in remotely the same league as Tesla.

Also, a headline such as this makes me recall Betteridge's Law of Headlines.

It looks like that sky-blue car (Reliant Regal) Mr Bean likes to bully with his Mini Minor, often tipping it over.

You can see these in person over at the Meccanica condo building at East 1st and Quebec. They are a cool idea, but maybe for $6k, not $16k or whatever they want.

But people pay more for a smartcar, which has about equal usefulness IMO, and is terrible to drive.

Nope! Not in a city where it will mostly be seen nor 99% of the highways that exist in Canada.

They also don't have enough range to do the Coquihalla anyways, so it's not like that could be an issue.
