I saw the first picture and thought I clicked on the Baltimore thread again.
Beautiful pictures and fantastic city. I love the elegance of the grey stone in so many Quebec cities. It has a beautiful quality even in buildings without any significant ornamentation. |
I've always heard that if given a choice, this is the Canadian city to see. It's definitely on my list of places to visit some day.

It's Canada's greatest city, in my opinion. Makes the rest feel like suburbs that just happen to have taller buildings.
It has a real, muscular presence, vibrant urbanity, and a very strong and unique identity. It's one of those few cities in North America that feels like it used to be some old world, independent city-state. It has all the beauty that Quebec is known for, but also all of the grit that makes North American cities feel lived in and meant for residents more than visitors. You can't regret a visit to Montreal. The different impressions people have about the city are just different ways they choose to express what they love about it. So, yes, go. :D |
Magnifique!
