Upscale grocery in Westdale

Also new this month is an upscale grocery store in Westdale. The Westdale Green Grocer is located at 1028 King St. W., and features a large selection of organic and conventional fruits and vegetables, bagels and other baked goods brought in fresh daily from Toronto specialty bakeries, dairy products, prepared meals and candy. “There was nowhere nearby to buy fresh yoghurt and an apple,” says owner Anthony Veder. “This type of store is something that’s been lacking in the neighbourhood for a long time.” He says in the two weeks since its opening, his shop has already built up a clientele and repeat customers.

Logo's a bit of a cross between a fawn grey pocket square and the VW mark, subdued and mall-styley, but light-years better than the sundried McDonalds look of their previous iterations.

The see-saw commercial mix of Westdale has always been perplexing to me. Seems to have all the ingredients. Hopefully this campaign does the trick.
