I haven't seen the memorial in this much depth and detail before. Thank you.

magnificent job.............i just will not ever understand the coins being thrown in the pools DESPITE the sign asking that it not be done. You would think anyone with a brain would treat this site with utmost respect and obey the simple rules...............it's tantamount to defecating on this memorial that honors all those lost on September 11th

I just will never understand putting up signs telling people not to do something you know they're going to do. Or designing something not to accommodate an activity you know people are going to do. I fact, I'm sure it's probably fine and not hurting anything. It reminds me of curved sidewalks in parks and the paths people cut across the grass, despite signs telling them not to. You know they're going to do it, so just deal with it. (I also don't see it as a sign of disrespect; in fact, it's probably quite the opposite. The only person it would be disrespecting is a short-sighted designer if, in fact, it's actually a problem and not just a minor inconvenience.)

In any case, beautiful pics. I am very much looking forward to a trip out to NYC to see this. I'll probably wait until the tower is done.

as i said, anyone with even half a brain should understand THIS SITE IS DIFFERENT!!! do you get that? it isnt grass in a park that's not supposed to be walked on, it is the WTC Memorial and should be treated as the sacred ground it is.............."it's probably quite the opposite" of a sign of disrespect? are you freaking kidding me? In fact, when you visit, why dont you just skip seeing the memorial because you obviously wouldn't understand it's significance

bunt_q Dec 28, 2011 9:16 PM

Oh quit whining. I don't see tossing money into a fountain as disrespectful at all. Neither, apparently, do a lot of other people, unless you and your holier-than-thou attitude really believe there are dozens upon dozens of malicious folks out there visiting this site just to spit on sacred ground.

Or, more likely, we're talking about 8-year-old children, to whom no site is different. Or, people who just pay their respects differently from you. Either way, grow up.

But anyways, as it's it's still happening - oh, the horror - the designers should have (and probably did) take it into account, so the signs are pointless (which is all I was really saying in the first place).

seems to me that you are the one that needs to grow up buddy if you can't understand that it is disrespectful
