If you know what the acronym in the title stands for, then you know what I'm talking about.

I know that on the first photo the crane on the left is for Edinburgh Common, but on the right side of this photo, like in the far distance, it sounds like a crane, although I doubt it is the Hampton Hotel, especially since the triplet towers on the Vanier Parkway between MacArthur and Donald Street are shown significantly closer then the crane. It sounds like the crane is located around the St. Laurent/417 area (or probably even Cyrville or near the split), though I don't think they started anything there about the expansion or new buildings. Or maybe it is the Place des Gouvernors multi-condo tower project which is awfully slow.

Nice shots, man. I'm assuming you work for DND if you're allowed to get up on the roof of their building?

Rathgrith Aug 30, 2009 3:52 AM

^That's what I was thinking. And the answer is...

adam-machiavelli Aug 30, 2009 4:35 AM

NDHQ is DND headquarters.

I have not been up on the Rideau Centre roof garden for years and didn't realize that it had grown in so much. From this angle it looks very appealing, but I avoid it because there never seemed to be many people there and it felt like like a good place to get mugged. Just me?

adam-machiavelli Aug 30, 2009 3:32 PM

Oh definitely not. My co-workers and I always go up there to eat our lunches. There's lots of friendly people up there.

kwoldtimer Aug 30, 2009 3:47 PM

:previous: Good to know. Thanks.

great pics and you have a good view to watch the construction of the convention centre, hopefully you will be able to post regular updates of it :)

Great shots man! It's a rare vantage point with basically a 360 degree view of the downtown core and surrounding neighbourhoods. I took the liberty and stitched a couple of your shots from earlier together....they were just asking to be stitched :).

Nice views

I thought that this was such a great photo that I should make it even more colourful, so I edited it to saturate the colour and raise the contrast just a touch.

Wonderful work! Thank you very much.

Unfortunately there won't be any updates to the work on the Congress Centre from that angle as I took the photos on August 28th, the LAST DAY of my summer internship at DND.

You must work on a floor that allows cameras...mine doesn't...
