Veterinarians in Hamilton

Moved here from TO a while ago.

Does anyone know of any good Vets in Hamilton to take the pets to? Preferably someone who's main priority is ripping clients off. I had a really good one in TO but have a 15.5 year old that couldn't take traveling that far anymore.

I did go to PetVet a couple of times but didn't like the fact that they charged me in advance for a follow-up visit. I didn't notice until later. What if I didn't want to come back???

Cheers,

Clappison Vet

Hwy 6 just past Terra.

Edit: And I presume you meant "Preferably someone who's main priority isn't ripping clients off."

Good catch... yes, isn't.
Thanks, you are the third person today that has referred me to them.
I will make an appointment.

We've been very happy with the Dundas Animal Hospital on King St. in Dundas, if you want to save yourself the drive.

Welcome to the board!

I dunno I always find their receptionist rude. Stopped going to them because of that.

I deal with Peter at Stonegates in West Flamborough. Mind you his family and mine were good friends for many years, long ago. I just love his heritage stone house. Peter also does housecalls and he is usually 24/7 if needed. And he is usually the only vet on the location less Peter decided to take a few vacation days. If he can't get someone to fill in for him then he deals with the ER clinic when he isn't available. When I had my female mini schnauzer spayed a few months ago, that bill was $302 inclusive, which included one night stay. He sent me home with the elizabeth collar (cone) to put on her to stop her from licking. Well she was petrified of it and litterally froze up. :lmao: So needless to say I had to take it off of her. She will be a year old next Thursday (29th).

I take my Dog to Spencer Creek Animal Hospital 'Dr' Angela Whelan' in Dundas right across from the Canadian Tire on Cootes Drive.

Interesting that no one mentioned any within the imediate city limits in Hamilton.

My poor girl has so much trouble having a poop. One day she could be soft, then next day hard. I made an apt with Peter on Thursday to see what the problem is. I recently changed her food to see if that would help, but so far it hasn't. She ate Sunday morning, then only a mouthful Sunday evening. So to give her system a rest she had no food today. The poor girl today was trying so hard and nothing coming out. I am hoping it's only impacted anal glands. And I named my girl Paula after my friend Paul that passed away not long ago.

Poor thing. How old is she?

There's a vet on Main W near Rifle Range Rd. Don't know anyone who goes there. I've also heard not so great things about Blue Cross. We went to the Dundas Animal Hospital.

She just turned a year old on January 29th. I have been trying different things to try and help this but so far no luck.

I have always fed my pets a high quality food not the cheap grain crap. I have her on a no meat food now, with potato, rice and herring. I haven't tried her on canned food yet. I will see what Peter says on Thursday.
