Saskatoon and Regina to host 2010 world juniors
Canadian Press July 7, 2008 at 2:06 PM EDT SASKATOON — The world junior hockey championship is coming to Saskatchewan. Hockey Canada and the Canadian Hockey League announced today that Saskatoon and Regina will host the 2010 tournament. Ten nations will compete at the tournament with the game schedule to be released early next year. The Saskatchewan bid was chosen from three potential groups who made final presentations in Toronto last month. Saskatoon previously hosted the tournament in 1991. The 2009 tournament will be played in Ottawa. The 2012 tournament will also be held in Canada with the host city to be announced later this summer. http://www.globesports.com/servlet/s...rtsHockey/home |

Way to go. Just proves that it isn't all about size.

The local punditry have been saying for a couple years now that this tournament has outgrown cities our size. I guess they were wrong.
Too bad Regina will get no Canada games. Couldn't they have thrown at least one their way? |

It is rather unfortunate that Regina isn't getting any of the round-robin Canada games... I really hope they cave and give us one. |
Damn, well at least Saskatoon/Regina is closer than Halifax. Congrats and see you next xmas!
