Get your cultures right dude. just because Latin Americans speak spanish doesn't mean they are Spanish. |

|

|
its "spain" because its part of "International" village
|
Yeah, you'd be lookin' for sangria and tapas.
|
anyhow, that area is amazing with all those condos....hopefully, all that density is helping International Village (is it still really empty? no change at all?)

That a new neighbourhood, or just a development slogan? Either way, project is very nice. |
Thanks for fixing the title up. I assume that was mr.x2. I just looked at emporis and the diagrams section and for whatever reason I couldn't find the height of the 2nd tower.

Thanks, kinda Ironic the area is near Olympic Venues IMO. should have taken the opportunity to redevelop more of that area by putting part or all of the Olympic village there.

The tower above the mall is called "Europa".
"International Village" is the name for the whole Henderson project (4 blocks). Nowadays, people use it more for the mall - ie. that building actually says International Village above the doors. I think Henderson had plans to move the project away from just being an extension of Chinatown (i.e. high end fashion shops that flopped) and adopted the International Village name. The ground floor of the mall was supposed to have a Chinatown style grocery / market area - as evidenced by the brass insets in the flooring of fruits, vegatables and animals. The second level was to be the high end shops and food fair with the Cinemark Tinseltown theatres on the third floor. Note that "Tinseltown" is a brand of Cinemark theatre - akin to "SilverCity" and "Colossus" for Cineplex/Famous Players. It's the only Cinemark theatre in Canada after expansion plans were halted. |
thats too bad cinemark is pretty good
they are based out of texas i think and they have a lot of theatres in south america according to their website they should open a cinemark in surrey central area - that area could use a movie theatre |
finally going to make that area come alive...maybe...and the mall potentially viable for once.
