what happens when a mad genius finds sim city 4 cheats....well, a little late, but still.... http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5020/...622cab8b_b.jpg good old luxemburg, with some new tricks. |
I got the game in October 2009 and thought I would try to create a few cities.
This was my first attempt at a big city. Bramela but the population only reached 276,400. http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/...1258793998.png Next I thought I would try a smaller city. Masterton with a population of 68,510. http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/...1257920517.png This city I just finished. It took four months and the region took one year to make. The cities total population is 1,704,800 with a metro area of 3,806,000. http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/...1301099998.png |
Heres two more I made.
Belmont, with a population of 356,780. http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/...1259222753.png Etobicoke with a population of 1,387,680 and a metro population of 3,256,410. I tried to make the street layouts similar to downtown Toronto's. http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/...1274473537.png |
detroitmetro, I like the WTC buildings in your city :D
Although, I feel sorry for anyone living in your city, it's so freaking cramped lol. Dwils, you're good at making realistic looking cities, nice job! I used to be addicted to SC4, around 4 years ago, but haven't touched it since. It was a great fun game even though I never was able to create large cities like you all. |
my cities aren't that all realistic, but once i finish every slot, i will start on a more realistic region.
My region about 10 city slots left until it's all gone. http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/2...1303202716.png http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/9...1303202732.png http://img710.imageshack.us/img710/7...1303202743.png http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/5...1303202757.png Picture of the regions main business district. http://img806.imageshack.us/img806/3...1303202768.png the volcanic islands, very densely populated in parts http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/7...1303202796.png The farmland with a big city in the centre http://img852.imageshack.us/img852/3...1303202807.png the more realistic city with suburbs http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/3...1303202831.png the only remaining places for cities http://img545.imageshack.us/img545/2...1303202874.png http://img801.imageshack.us/img801/7...1303202858.png the CBD of a very large city surrounded by farmland http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/4...1297672236.png High/medium/low housing areas http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/1...1297672259.png more high/medium/low housing http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/296...1297672250.png the whole city in one pic http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/819...1297671324.png |

even though the city seems chaotic, its actually very orderly. the next step of "policy measures" to be enacted will be mixing homogeneus zonings of resedential and commercial use.
|
any opinions of what i should do next. maybee double the population. lol.i was thinking of designating two commercial streets, one of european architecture, and the other of contemporary asian, there are two semi disctricts of such proposals, but i want to make it more official. also, maybee a 20th century brownstone district.

great city detroit!
you could make those big tenet/apartment buildings that look square, you know what i'm talking about? Well, make them into a more dense residential or office space with taller skyscrapers. |

5 airports and still not enough to satisfy the demand of this city

Nice cities guys.
Tower X: you know you can enlarge your region and add more city slots if you want. For instance the region I am working on now is 49 large city squares. Its an easy adjustment to the config file in your region folder. You can find ez instructions how to do it at simtropolis.com Here a few screenshots of my region. I like to create a lot of low density suburbs and farmland to make it a little more realistic. Here are two screenshots of the central city of my region: Satellite View: Transportation Map: Southeast side of the region: a giant river valley mostly filled with farmland for now: Northeast: West side of the region: Still a lot of room to grow over here. and the South part of the region: (the suburbs from the main city will sprawl out to here eventually) As you can see there is still room to grow. I could probably work on this region for the next five years if I don't become bored with it :) |
