This one really took off once it got past the cantilever.

Is 108 the number the real floors of this tower?

Unless they have most of the prepped material in one spot ready to ship to the construction site, the façade might take more time to put up than a lot of people think.

It's somewhat more involved than a plain vanilla curtain wall.

It's advertised at 131 but around 100 will be the actual floor count.

Sneaking up very quietly on 220 CPS (and the rest of the skyline).

I doubt it's sneaking up "very quietly", in fact 220 could very well be contemplating the end of its short-lived dominance over the area, and trying to live the moment as long as it lasts. But hey, I don't live in NY, and I could be totally wrong :P

^ Oddly, the two seem to make a good pair now. We'll see how long that lasts...

What is the height of cpt while now???

CPT is now about 760-770 feet tall (Using the Carnegie Hall tower directly to the east as reference (which is 757 feet tall))

I was going to guess something similar around 800 feet now comparing it with 220. Looks like they are completing around 3 floors a month on average with perhaps 5 floors being completed this month. It would be kinda cool if they posted how tall the structure currently is or the current top floor like a few other towers have been doing.

It's what we do. And this tower is now slightly beyond the halfway point. Amazing when you think about it.

There aren't many times or many places where you see two of the tallest towers to the roof rise just blocks with each other as seen in post #4953, pic #23. In the city, you have 57th Street/S.Park South for the view and the HY district (which has the largest super tall concentration currently rising and planned). All within just mere blocks of each other. We literally have super tall nodes rising. Back in the old days, millennia ago, like 1990, there as just the ESB and Chrysler in Midtown. Remember those sad days. The city seemed provincial back then, like a small village. Fast forward, and its a zoo of cranes.

We are in a new age, a "glory" period of New York skyscraper construction. What will be some of the most prominent skyscrapers on the New York skyline are being built during this age.
I don't know what they will call it when history looks back, but there's no denying we are witness to a special time.

For me, this view from this block defines this era in New York. When One57 went up, it was seen as a giant on this stretch, with a damaged crane dangling 1,000 ft over Manhattan.
Not many years later, it will seem quaint compared to the two towers rising on either side. It changes that fast.
