With them installing the steel, I guess we can assume the MTD is in place. I was kinda hoping someone would have a pic of it. Not expecting it to look like Taipei 101 or anything but the largest ever created should be noticeable unless its one of the liquid ones.

You see the tuned mass damper in the video above. The reason the last few floors took forever is because they had to pour all of that concrete around the damper

i was in the area yesterday and i bring you new pictures because i noticed that the cocoon kinda jumped, then i zoomed in and i saw new steelwork on top of the concrete body. if you see NYGUY first and second pictures you may also notice the steel crown is underway

The 1920s-era rotunda-style building served as home to Steinway for about 90 years, and had a performance space where pianists like Sergei Rachmaninoff were known to have practiced. The lower floors of the original Steinway building will serve as the lobby according to interior designer Bill Sofield, whose clients have included companies like Tom Ford, Harry Winston and Ralph Lauren, according to his website.

The blackened steel latticework was re-created using 3-D printing technology. The original piano loading dock was turned into a porte cochere.

"That was one of the great rooms of New York," Mr. Sofield said of the ground-floor showroom, noting that the glass display window was specially designed to eliminate glare, making the pianos look close enough to touch.

Mr. Stern said he expects construction on the Steinway portion of the building to be completed by the end of the year. The tower portion of the project is slated to be finished early next year, he said. At 1,428 feet, it will be among the tallest buildings in New York.

Right now the tallest steel floor is 1,288.5 feet high, the next beams will be just above 1,300 feet

Thanks TK2001 for the diagram.
Like a building in a pinstriped suit. I would have to say this and 9 DeKalb Avenue are by far my favourites going up right now. By the time this tops out we should start to see the other rise.

Yes this diagram is very informative indeed. So, the top occupied unit has its ceiling at only 1149 feet. 432 Park Ave has at least ten residential floors that are higher than that. Thus, even though 111 W 57 will become a taller residential building, 432 Park Ave will still have higher units.

Does anyone know how high the Central Park Tower's top residential floor will be?
