Tieress

Tieress is the new name of the city that I formerly called North Bay. North Bay is the large water basin located north of the city.

I must have over a hundred scenes stored on this sketchup file. Here are a few skyline views.

This is a view from the observatory, which is located at the highest natural point in the city. This view is looking south

This observatory is located around the cove from the central part of the city.

Tieress scenes

There may not be a lot of activity in terms of posting here, but there seems to be a good number of hits. I felt that might be enough for me to post a few scenes of the city.

Your city looks great!

I really like the Boulevard (Terrace) I'm going to eventually have something similar in my city!

Thanks Skydragon. That might be a great way to connect your skyline clusters.

Boulevard scene

I thought I would post a boulevard scene today.

Nice scene!

How do you get the edges to be so nice looking? In many of my pictures, theres an odd whiteness showing!
I really wish this forum was more active! I don't post new pictures of my city as the whole thread would just be my posts!

I use fog and shadows. I found that these parameters can add a lot of depth.

For shadow settings, you can set time of day, time of year, as well as light and dark settings.

For fog settings, I like to adjust the fog so the scene fades out before you can see the undeveloped part of the city. You can also set the color.

For each scene, I adjust the fog and shadow settings.

When editing, I turn off shadows since it slows things down.

There seems to be some activity as far as viewing goes; there is just very little posting.

Ok, I'll try it out thanks:)

The size of the model and the realistic layout and realistic looking buildings make this look really stunning! I also like the skyline, very nice variation in building shapes and sizes makes it look interesting. What I would like see is some kind of a map to better orient myself in all those great views.

Thanks Vellu! I'll try to do a map soon. I was thinking that I might do a few maps showing the regional area as well as a larger scale of the core .

Meanwhile, here is a skyline view from the southeast

Nice skyline!

I'm looking foreword to seeing that map!

regional map of Tieress

Tieress is a northern hemisphere city. I have a few concepts in how it is oriented.
My most developed vision is that Tieress is situated on a river (or estuary) that empties a large lake to the south into a bay north of the city.

As you can see, this map is more regional. I will post a map of the central area shortly.

The map is very interesting!

How did you make it? As it looks like none of your buildings are on it!

This is a top view in parallel projection.
Actually, the buildings are on it. You should be able to hide your buildings If the geometry in your infrastructure is separate from the buildings.

Here is a map of the central area.

Downtown Tieress map

Here is one more in the map series. This is yet a closer view of the downtown area.

The map is neat looking.

I hope to see more of the city!

I'm going to try to make a map of my city.

Airplane view of Tieress

Here is an airplane view of the city. Now you can see how undeveloped it is!

There is a hand drawn (computer drawn) map that is visible in some places. I laid it out when I started the model to use as a general guide.

Incidentally, when I do updates to the city, I often update the images and re-upload them. What this means is that there could be some (subtle) changes to the images on earlier posts.

The downtown area looks interesting!

Are you going to do any other area of the city?
