Can't wait to see some rise from the pit. This project, with the integration of the existing building and in such a narrow hole, is really something special. This one seems to be one that will rise slower than some of the other core towers in the city due to the complicated site. I would also guess the cladding/facade will take a while to appear given the detail and thin tower rising above once it goes above ground.

I don't know I feel like once this gets going it's gonna rise really fast.

is anyone else troubled by the economy and what it might mean for all these towers under construction?

These towers are places for global elite to park their money. A volatile global stock market won't change that - it might even accelerate it.

These towers have construction financing already so there shouldn't be a problem. l'd be more concerned with future proposed towers during an economic downturn.:)

I'm not worried about the NY towers. The Chinese towers might get hit hard, though, depending on what the market crash does to the overall Chinese employment and financial markets. Those are a lot of really big office towers going up, and if people start losing jobs there like crazy (which is possible but not yet predictable) that's gonna mean a whole lot of empty buildings.

Does anyone have any speculation as to when this might actually rise up from the ground?

∑HFS= γ((Steinway x log sexiness)3 + ∬log(Verre)cos(Width + sexiness)) + !(8 u/c supertalls))

Where the coefficient of NYC epicness = γ = 1,000,000

Therefore the Holy fuckin' shit (HFS) value is off the charts. :D

Will be the most beautiful skyscraper since the Chrysler. Very fitting for the greatest city in the world.

Couldn't agree more, this will have great aesthetic and craftsmanship much like Chrysler building! I can't wait to see this in person!
