What italian population would need a repatriation flight to YVR, if anything it would have operated to YYZ or YUL. |
Got an e-mail from Air France. They will increase YUL to 10x weekly as of July 8th. They are currently offering daily service on the route. Also, they will resume YYZ service with 3x weekly flights on July 5. No word on YVR resumption thus far.
KLM will resume YUL on July 13 with daily service, YVR with 3x weekly service from July 7. YYC resumption pushed back a few days to July 9 as well, 2x weekly service. YYZ has already resumed with daily service. No word on YEG resumption, as they are not allowed to operate there anyways, until our governement lifts the intl route restrictions. https://www.routesonline.com/news/38...as-of-21jun20/ And, as I had said, almost all Transat routes for their resumption of service will be with the A321neoLR. That is now confirmed. Definitely the right plane for the job, considering the circumstances. The only A332 routes are some of the YUL-CDG runs as well as some of the longer routes, such as YYZ-ATH/FCO and YUL-ATH, where the A321 would struggle. https://www.routesonline.com/news/38...as-of-21jun20/ |
KLM AMS-YUL is only 2x weekly 789? That’s all that’s showing for now. Also the YYC resumption has always been July 9.

As for YUL, KLM isn't operating the 330s on long haul flights currently. Only 787/777. I checked again, from July 15 only 2x weekly (Sunday / Wednesday) on 789 is available. But we all know these schedules are being changed hourly. |

On the note of KLM, they've loaded a schedule update in August. Mostly the same as July with a few aircraft/frequency adjustments. The 330s are back in the schedule as of now, but I would expect further changes.
YYZ - 1x daily 78J YVR - 3x weekly 772 YYC - 3x weekly 333 YUL - 2x weekly 789 |

Seems WS doesn't want to waste a good crisis.
No better time than the present to clean up house and blame it on COVID. Wages and working conditions at all airlines are going one way, down, for the foreseeable future. |

With WestJet slowing shifting to a union shop in the future it is going to be harder to manage the customer experience using internal resources. Contractors provide more flexibility with being able to adjust how you deliver the service and customer experience. |
