Cool, hope it goes up. I wonder how the MACC feels about this proposal.

I personally give more respect to the last pile of dog shit that I stepped in than MACC's opinion about anything.

hahaha I thought about replying to his post with something similar, but decided against it. Mine wasn't going to be as scathing, though.

Well, the developers don't seem to be planning to build on the corner, so it would appear that MACC got what they wanted.

I thought all the fuss was about 70 Rainey Street, which is what's highlighted in that diagram, right? I think the corner is supposed to be another project; Hotel Van Zandt, I believe.

lzppjb Apr 27, 2013 10:09 PM

64 Rainey was going to be part of 70 Rainey until the MACC got involved.

The Hotel Van Zandt will be built next to The Shore.

This is now a Food Trailer Court, on the north lots and will be a concert venue with beer garden on the south lots. The owners of this lot swapped lots with the Luster Perl lots where they will build the proposed hotel.

Did they? I think Riverside Resorces still owns this property.

A houston firm purchased the lots by Lustre Pearl. The owners of 70 Rainey are probably just taking their time with the site plans. My thinking was in the meantime they would lease the property to food vendors.

Have not heard anything about a concert venue. Just a dog park :/

I heard that info from a food vendor themselves about what they have been told. So take it how you like. Time will tell.

I might be crazy, but pretty sure Waller Center is the large property north of 4. Also they mentioned the Lustre Pearl is closing which it is not. Usually ABJ is in the know and accurate, but I am questioning this article.

They did an article the other day interviewing Bridget with her hinting that Lustre Pearl will operate elsewhere.

I am sure they where just stating that it was closing at its location where it is at right now.

The property for waller center should be extended all the way to Ceaser Chavez. The location they have in red is part of the propossed development.

Has anyone heard anything further about this one?

They were granted an 180-day extension on their Site Plan application last Friday, so the project still has legs. They now have until May 2014 to respond to the City's comments.

PageSoutherlandPage designed a condo tower for the previous owner of this piece of land and I can't seem to get the photo to embed.
