It doesn't include the 50 story Kushner building across the street this tower (One Journal Square).

This one has had a height increase. 57 floors (inclusive of a mechanical floor) and 701 feet tall per pages 13-14 of a presentation to the community on December 15, 2015: http://www.thenewjournalsquare.com/d...esentation.pdf

There is no height limit assigned to the Journal Square area and I wonder if the second phase could be a dark horse contender for a 1000ft supertall, right in the heart of Jersey City.

Considering this tower is now 701 ft. and the shortest tower, then Journal Square is going to have an amazing skyline in a couple of years. At least two of the upcoming towers are at least potential supertalls.

Tower 1 reduced from 57 to 46 while Tower 2 increases from 70 to 79. There is no height limit in the area as the city is strongly encouraging high density development. The 57 floor tower was planned to stand 701ft. If keeping the same ceiling heights, Tower II should may be supertall status. Not bad for good ol' Journal Square.

The public meeting is tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. If you're a Jersey City resident, come out and show your support! I'll attend and should have some updated photos by tomorrow.

Hopefully this is over 800 ft +. I'd be happy with 850 ft for the area. 79 floors, with that many units... would be nice to see 10' ceilings + mechanical with lobby which would put this at 850-870'.

I have the renderings. Project looks great! And I also have the heights: 892ft for the 79 storey building; 700ft for the 46 floors.

And hell, 700 ft. Consider that URL is 710 ft; spread over 3 towers of equal height. 1 of which is almost finished.

So just mentioning this project and URL, we have 4 towers over 700 ft, and 2 over 800 ft (one of which is u/c and that is 99 Hudson at 900 ft).

*Intersting. The reported 46 floor tower is not inclusive of a 10 storey base. The real height is 56 floors. So there has been no reduction from the past proposal.

The 79 floor tower is however inclusive of the 10 storey base.

And unanimously approved :-)

Further good news is that they're not using the full density allowance and could come back and add additional floors to either tower if the market demands it.

Height spectacular.

If there was one gripe it would be that I wish it could have retained a strong signage element at its' base... I thought that it was appropriate to JS and would have fostered a mini-Times Square feel. This looks outstanding though. Clearly it's something Jared can be proud of after being tied to the humiliation that is his father-in-law.

That is just crazy big for that area. I am not going to be able to recognize Journal Square when I one day make it back there to visit (probably years from now.)

Looks good. Glad to see more towers being built in that area. The Journal Squared Tower just looks weird right now out there by itself.

I'm all for density over transit hubs, and these towers actually look nice.

New scaffolding is up at 1JSQ per DominiRicanJSQ at Wired NY. Projects of this scale take time. My guesstimate for groundbreaking is Spring of 2017.

And they can potentially rise taller! The site allows a FAR of 25. They're only using ~23. If the first Journal Squared tower is met with strong leasing, I would not be surprised if this one jumps a bit to take advantage of the full allowable density.
