The site's boarded but no sign of construction yet. Also the rule here on SSP is you can only post the thread here once they start piling

Fabb Sep 26, 2007 10:55 AM

I've seen those renderings before.
I suspect that there was already an old thread about this project.

I love the design btw.

Well, I think there is a difference between might be built and not going to be built. I think that this thread belongs here because all of the planning needed to construct the complex is already done, and construction prep is beginning.

Is that a football field on top of the podium?

malec Sep 26, 2007 11:56 PM

^^ But that's the same with a lot of the projects in the proposals section.

VA_Gentleman Sep 27, 2007 2:31 AM

Are those first renderings by architect Richard Rogers. It looks like a bigger scale of some of his projects in the U.K.

Ididish, you continualy create threads for projects that are not technically under construction yet. You should put all these in the propoasals thread and wait until they are moved up by an admin, instead of wasting all of our time with these incorectly posted threads.

This one is actually under construction (foundation work started), so dont waste your time telling him such things. I can understand why you would say that as most of the other Korean buildings are absolute crap, but this one looks fairly nice and deseves the thread.

ATLksuGUY Nov 19, 2007 4:06 PM

Ok sorry i see, just making a point from some other posts in ididish's history. However you gotta admire is dedication, lol..

The tallest towers look alot like one of the NY WTC designs... I think it's the Greenwich one I'm thinking of.

NYC4Life Aug 20, 2008 5:22 PM

Yup it does, resembles 175 Greenwich without the spires.

jaga185 Nov 22, 2008 4:27 AM

This building looks awesome, I can't wait to see the finished project.

TANGELD_SLC Nov 25, 2008 6:18 AM

WOW that hole is mega mammoth!

NYC4Life Nov 27, 2008 6:49 PM

Reminiscent of Ground Zero here in NY, only looks deeper.

Moneyman Dec 23, 2008 2:46 AM

T1 is actually 345.8m high, above basement level, with 36m basement. It has 72 floors. T2 is 271m high above basement level with 58 floors.

The Retail has 7 floors above and 2 flors below ground.

There is a 350 bed hotel at 29 levels above ground. The whole development is now 673,000m2 in total, as at today.

Construction has been ongong for the last year, now at Foundation level across the majority of the site, except the Hotel end which is top down. Basement is 38m (from ground level) deep in certain areas, coming up to 29m in the Hotel end.

There is circa 27,500m2 of D Wall, with 5,480 earth anchors (not in the Top Down area though). The foundatons for Tower 1 in progress, along with the pads for the Retail.

More current pictures to be posted later this week

Thanks for the info.

I wonder if the new height figure is a correction of a previous mistake or the result of a redesign.

malec Feb 28, 2009 11:35 AM

This is from january 22nd, very late I know. I just wanted to bump the thread so it doesn't disappear into oblivion :)

Doesn't look like much has changed at either the IPark or the IFC site. A glance through the construction gate at IPark revealed foundation/structural "stuff" (sorry, I'm not an architect or engineer) reaching towards the top of the hole. There was a lot of activity at both sites, with cement trucks going in and out and crews of construction folk hammering and lifting and whatnot. There are a lot of cranes employed at both sites. Maybe Seoul will finally get a supertall or two.
