Thanks for the phenomenal update, ILNY! How tall would you say this is now? It's always hard to tell from pictures. |
^^^ Thank you Vortex11. The core is double the store height, my guess is around 250ft.

Wow! 250 ft already. I never would have guessed. So it must look quite larger in person!

It definitely has the feel of something big going up.

still no official render for this thing?

Technically, couldn't the 1550' figure on the building permit refer to the highest occupied floor? Then a crown could add another 100 feet? |

a big cornice of wild prominent mexican masks . .
or some kind of gargoyles . . stone or metal . . would almost make up for obliterating . . their bold ideal spire solution . . |

I'm telling ya guys. Something sneaky is going on here. I'm curious what it is
|
This might not be the place to ask this but how can developers never publicly release official renders for projects in NYC?
In Boston which I am more familiar with renderings are release with almost every meeting at the Boston Redevelopment Authority and there are usually huge amounts of design information and renderings release at the Boston Civic Design Commission meetings. There are always final official renderings by the time the building is under construction. Just curious what the difference is? |

Re. the discussion on "official renderings", I don't know what people are looking for. Gary Barnett never releases images of anything pre-marketing (anything you see is second-hand leaked), and we have enough leaked images to understand the building's appearance (plus the building permits give exact schematics). |
Rendering with the super talls.

now that is quite a view. and helpful too. it gives you a good very idea of the height comparisons, which i was curious about seeing from that kind of viewpoint.
