Tempe Depot
If you scroll down on the site you can see what the Tempe Depot Station looked like in 1975 before it was remodeled. Originally built in 1924!

I was bicycling along the Indian Bend Wash greenbelt from Scottsdale to Tempe yesterday for the first time in a few years. As I crossed into Tempe, I noticed the land between McKellips and Curry, behind Big Surf, is behind a fence. The multiuse path is still open, but everything else is inaccessible. I think this are might have once been a golf course, but I can't remember for sure. Does anyone know what the status of this area is?
Here's a map, just in case my text does not describe it precisely: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1h6...KI&usp=sharing |

It looks like there is another walkway being built by the Tempe town lake. It’s right bellow the current walk way by the Tempe Art Center. Also the shrubs are being cleared from the dry lakebed. |

Part of the lake’s edge is fenced. Maybe there is a walkway being paved? |

I’m not a big fan of some of the developments on 2100 Rio Salado. For such a prime piece of real estate next to two major freeways I would expect better hotels but at least the development is growing. |

Thanks for pics!
One question though. Aspen Heights broke ground already!? |
Nice pics! 707 Forest is moving quickly and good to see Westin above ground!
|
Thx for the pics. I’m surprised too about Aspen Heights. I haven’t seen any articles about them breaking ground. But great to see construction on the site.

Not sure what this is for. The app says Phoenix, but the location is actually Tempe in the parking lot off Farmer just North of 5th St and close to Macayo's. So may be relevant to the towers that are proposed on the Macayo lot or is something proposed in the parking lot adjacent to Farmer?

Cool! It sounds like a crane app for The Beam (5 story, "wooden" office building and parking garage).

Will be neat to see this type of construction (exposed timber). |
I'm curious why they need a 150' crane, maybe a mobile crane for the assembly/take down of the tower crane, but it'll be nice to see that go up.

WeWork opened at Watermark:
https://www.bizjournals.com/phoenix/...coworking.html They apparently already have a subtenant taking an entire floor, although they wouldn't disclose the tenant. And they have fruit water! |
DRC packet for Eastline Village, the much-ballyhooed "no cars" development:

"No car Development"
it LITERALLY has a parking lot. |
