The Manchester Pacific Gateway will be further to the north on Harbor Drive: http://www.manchesterpacificgateway.com/site_plan.html

The towers in the photo you posted are two different projects. The first (on the left) is Ballpark Village. I think the other project is Alexan Tower.

Not sure what will be more fun in 2017.

Watching the Chargers fail in the LA market or watching the battle brewing for what to do with the Q and the mass amount of land it sits on.

San Diego State already failed in their first attempt to steal it so who's next?

Hhmmm, San Diego now also sits as the largest market open without an NFL team so maybe it takes LA's place as the "threaten to move to" city?

Were in a small sliver of the country trapped in by MX, AZ and LA. We rank 28th in the nation in media market size. They'll put a team in Portland, Raleigh, Modesto, Orlando before coming back to SD. Time to look ahead.

Well..on the plus, LA has 2 football teams again. The minus is that we only want the Rams. The Chargers belong in San Diego. What a mess.

That logo is hideous, from one of the best in the league to the worst.

Fuck Spanos and fuck the NFL. Im proud of SD for not wasting taxpayer money subsidizing this billionaire who is willing to shell out $650 million for a move to LA but not pay the the difference with $350m from the NFL for a new stadium in SD. And like we've seen in Santa Clara, the new stadiums suck for the fans anyways...

I think I'm done with this rotten league.

People are upset about this, its a shame they couldn't work out something! Even in the suburbs, north county may have been better.

First Shamu, now this. The stature of the city dropped a notch or two...

Good bloody riddance.

I'm looking forward to a decade of wrangling over the Q. The UT has an article quoting Briggs saying he'll sue if they propose high-rises in the valley.

Would it help if an hour worth of commercials were added and the team went 2-14? :hyper:

:haha: Fair enough. All kidding aside, if SDSU develops any of that land then there's a chance that a smaller stadium could be a part of it. Whether or not that will attract an MLS franchise is up in the air.

Chargers made a bad mistake

I am, or shall I say was, a big Charger fan. I grew up going to games at the Q and some really great memories happened there. Lately though as the ownership has become increasingly greedy i have lessened my support for the team. I knew that Spanos was disingenuous when he choose the downtown option for his new football palace instead of one everyone in the region supported at the qualcomm site. He knew that it wouldn't pass and therefore he would have the excuse that he tried everything to get something done in SD.

Good riddance! I think a downtown football stadium would have destroyed the fabric and feel of our beautiful downtown. I am glad it didn't pass.

Good riddance, I take some measure of pleasure in knowing you will be so not welcome in LA. The LA times has an article stating,"WE DONT WANT YOU CHARGERS!"

Go become the LA CLIPPERS x 100

Derek Jan 13, 2017 1:47 AM

It's going to be so fun to watch them fail. Here's to San Diego hopefully getting an MLS team sometime in the near future...

A mid size stadium would be good for the football team as well, there's no reason they shouldn't be consistently good....
