Price of gas in your city
I always find it fascinating how the gas prices can vary so much from town to town. London tends to be about 8 cents cheaper than Toronto most days, for example. Even Hamilton is usually about 5 cents cheaper than Oakville.
Anyways, in Oakville I paid 131.9 last night. |
123.9 in Cobourg this morning.

Wow Their is a website in Winnipeg just for these gas prices that show the prices of gas in Winnipeg over the last 48 hours
http://www.winnipeggasprices.com/index.aspx?fuel=A Lowest Price for each category Regular: Domo at 1032 marion st =120.4 Midgrade: Shell at Pembina hwy and Waterford ave =123.8 Premium: Domo same location as first=130.6 Diesel; Petro-Canada Pembina hwy and Bairdmore blvd =134.9 Highest Price for each category Regular: Husky at Pembina hwy and Dudley ave =127.9 Midgrade: Husky at St.Mary's rd and Hindley ave =137.9 Premium:Husky at Isabel st and Alexander ave =145.9 Diesel: Esso at 2-563 St Anne's rd=149.9 |
Vancouver Island
Victoria - 129.9 Mill Bay (10 min up the road) - 120.9 Crofton (10 min further up the road) 132.9 Nanaimo 120.9 While in Saskatchewan Regina - 124.9 Saskatoon - 123.9 Swift Current - 123.9 No idea why Saskatchewan which has a refinery in Regina and is home to quite a few oil fields has a price similar to an island that has to import all of its petroleum products. |
114.5 to 122.9 on the reserve where Provincial gas taxes don't apply
135.9 to 142.9 in the city where Provincial gas taxes do apply We get gas once a week or so, so the prices don't fluctuate much, and since every gas station gets the same gas from the same companys (either Suncor or Can-Op), there is virtually no difference in price. The regular gas stations are all at 139.9 right now, with a couple discount stations below that and a couple full service stations above it. If you've got a 70L tank, the difference between the most expensive and least expensive is only $20. Considering the reserve gas stations have line-ups down the street (they're all in a row and have about 30 cars waiting at any time) it's not really worth it considering the time it takes to get that gas. People who drive to the US to fuel up their cars will likely burn any savings they get during the 2.5 hour trip. |
It was 138.9 last time I filled up.
|
I'm not sure exactly what it is now, probably in the 1.20-1.40/L range. The closer you get to Costco on the east end of the city the cheaper the gas price.
|
Calgary is ranging from 116.9 to 123.9.
But, I'm paying 95c/L for the next year. I received the current Ford promotion of 1000 litres at 95c when I bought my new Focus a few weeks back. |
Around $1.30/L
|
|
it was 122.9 the last time about 2 weeks ago, 2 weeks prior it was 109.9 seems to flucuate anywhere from 108.9 - 126.9 126.9 is very high around here

www.gasbuddy.com
This is a handy site for anyone who doesn't know about it. I have found locally in St. John's, price goes to the maximum it can sell for on Thursday morning. It then gradually decreases throughout the week and it at it's lowest on wednesday evening. As another poster stated, it is lowest in the east end closer to Costco who usually sell for 3 cents/liter less than the competition. |
Its 136.9 here in Whitehorse, not so bad actually.
|
|
$1.31 in Toronto. $4.95 a gallon for US prices, $0.72 cents higher than the most expensive gas in the US.
|
115 in Edmonton. But will jump up 8C by friday, it ussally does. 129 in McMurray last week and 124-129 in Victoria today.
|
In Burlington it seems to have hovered in the high 131-cent range lately. I haven't seen the usual variation of a few cents - normally it drops a bit early in the week then goes up Thursdays.

Fortunately I drive so little and only for pleasure, so price of gas makes no difference to me. That's why I went with a bigger engine in my next car. |
$1.27 today.
|
It was 120.1 in Drumheller, haven't seen how much it is in Calgary lately.
|
134.9 in Gatineau. Has been stuck there for a while.
No idea about Ottawa since I have not been there in a few weeks. |
I can't remember the last time I saw a price below 130. I found an old gas receipt from 2011 and it was only 115 that particular day. Cheapest I've seen in the last year was maybe 116 in Aylmer ON at the No Frills Gas Bar.
|
127.6 here in Kingston. It's usually a few cents cheaper here than in Toronto or Ottawa.

Costco and GasPlus seem to be the cheapest right now at 116.9. |
Cheapest in Moose Jaw 125.9

When I went to Vancouver in September, their gas prices were lower than in Thunder Bay.
|
Esso and Petro Canada seem to have been stuck at 131.9 for days now.

One of the biggest local gas price differentials I saw was a day I was in both Welland and Niagara Falls. The price in Welland was 10 cents higher than in Niagara Falls. Of course, in Niagara Falls you're next to the border. |
Has been 133.9 here in the Sault for the last 4 months. Gas is 101.7 for a litre in Sault Michigan. Even with the bridge tolls and the difference in currency, I save just over $20 to fill up in the states.

Montreal was $1.44 too when I was there two days ago. So Vancouver has company.
Bécancour currently $1.32 to $1.35 depending on location. NH was $3.55 when I filled up. Sherbrooke was $1.40 last time I was there. |

I always fill up the container to take advantage of the exemption. (The result is that my dad's car (in Bécancour) runs on New Hampshire gas about half the time.) (I don't feel bad about it, I consider we're taxed enough as is.) So, my point was, if he does that too, you have to factor the savings for the extra fuel. $20 sounds reasonable for an average-sized car tank + container. Otherwise, he might have a truck. |
Aren't truck gas tanks 70L? I gas up the company vans at the gas station next door occasionally and it isn't unusual to get a bill for over $100 per van, and they're just GMC Savanas. That's the equivalent of 77L and they weren't on empty.
The Ford Econolines suck the shit back like it's infinite. We've stopped using them except when absolutely necessary. :uhh: |

137.4 in Montreal this morning.
You can fill up for about 93.9 (3.55$ per gallon) in Vermont. It's really worth the drive south. |
129 a litre here in Windsor. Fortunately with my husband working in the States, he always fills up over there for much less! The only time we fill up in Canada is when we are travelling and have no choice but to fill up here.
|
When I was in Detroit a few months ago, one station was 2.97/G which is only 79/L. Quite a big difference!
|
I always find it funny how much people obsess over the price of gas. I don't pay much attention to it, it's something I HAVE to buy. With my focus the price difference on a full tank of gas between a gas price being high (1.35 say) or low (1.16) is about $5 on a full tank. Not worth me really obsessing over.
Lots of people here go over to Detroit to cross border shop and buy gas cheaper over there. I shop local so I couldn't tell you how much cheaper it is. Gas today in Windsor ranges from 128.0-129.9 today. |

If I lived near the border, the situation would be different, of course. |

And btw, you can get to the border in about 1 hour. |
129.9 today. Shell, Petro Canada and Esso all the same. Slowly creeping down. I don't recall having ever seen 1.40+ in the GTA yet, which I find kind of surprising. I was looking through old gas receipts from 2012 and the prices ranged from 115 to 138. Now the prices range from about 123 to 138, so the average has gone up, but the range seems to be getting smaller.
Also, I was curious how recent prices compare to 1996. I found this handy chart from Statscan: http://www.statcan.gc.ca/pub/11-402-.../tbl03-eng.htm Toronto average price in 1996 was 56.1 vs 91.6 in 2009. So an increase of 63%. Meanwhile, according to extrapolation from the data following the link below, inflation between 96 and 09 was 29%. If gas prices were to follow inflation only, then they should've been 72.3 in 2009 (and 77.9 in 2013). However, cars today achiever far greater fuel efficiencies than 1996, so adjusted for inflation I wouldn't be surprised if in the end people are spending the same amount or less on gas than they were in 1996. http://www.economica.ca/cpi_ca.htm |
Filled up at 136.4 in Vaudreuil this morning while it's 148.4 in Montreal. Keep rising the price bitches... I am NOT going to fill up on the island.
|
Went up to 1.22 on Monday but is starting to drop already. Gassed up last night in St Albert at 1.18. Tuesday in McMurray the price was 1.28.
