The fires and resulting smoke were awful, but most of the time, the Bay Area and particularly the City are heaven on earth. I envy you.

Awesome! Was just there last summer. Incredibly beautiful and unique city.

Great photos! I love that you posted photos of the East Bay, too.
I love the East Bay; I know that some Bay Area snobs look down on the East Bay. I love Oakland and Berkeley. |
Great job! From one former Buckeye (via Columbus) to another, welcome to California! It's a big change from Ohio, and far from perfect, but it can be a great move in the long-term if you land the right job. The first year is the honeymoon period, and you seem to be making the most of it based on your photos!

Good thing is it's a La Niña year get out and enjoy those sunny warm dry days. Had it been an El Niño year, forget about it.

Great tour! Welcome to California!

Your average rural conservative American (especially here in Texas) thinks that San Francisco and the Bay Area are a "total shithole" and a complete disaster. Right-wing propaganda has made it a point to constantly trash San Francisco which has contributed to this distorted perception.
Your pictures say otherwise. Not saying the Bay Area doesn't have problems but overall it is incredibly gorgeous and economically vibrant. |

You never disappoint, and I love the fact you cover more than just San Francisco. Don’t get me wrong I like San Francisco and always enjoy my visits, but if I had to live there, no question I would choose a Oakland neighborhood. I love the greenery and colors of the east bay, and Piedmont is just breathtaking.
Thank you for highlighting a couple of Oakland neighborhoods, we don’t see them on this forum often. |
Beautiful photos, thanks for sharing! The Bay Area really has it all. From a dense, vibrant urban city to incredible scenic beauty, countless charming small towns...it has basically everything you could want. I was up in SF last week for Thanksgiving, and it was such a beautiful time to be in the city. The air felt so clean and crisp, many of the trees were in their peak colors (especially prominent on my drive out back to the 5)...just lovely.

Nice pictures! I like that you covered much of the Bay Area!

Spectacular and welcome.

Great photo tour. I know you've visited many times in the past, glad you get to experience as a 'local'. I've been to most spots you photographed but never in one sitting....great job.
Can you send me some Fenton's please! |
