To bring this thread back on topic -- one of my favorite manmade skylines, Cairo ;) :P

P.S. I'm among those who think Shanghai definitely belongs on a "top skylines" list.

I visited China for the first time last summer. Shanghai's skyline is nothing short of spectacular. The city was also much cleaner and greener than I imagined. I would not call it dystopian at all.

Based on recent exchanges in this thread, my vote for best (striking) skyline overwhelmingly goes to Pyongyang. :D

Well, they do have that freaky hotel there. Did they ever open it?

Downsides of Great Pyramid of Giza:
- Only 139 m. Floor count unclear; likely awarded few points in quantitative best skyline lists.
- Does not have ground floor retail.
- Does not have LEED certification.

Upsides:
- No balconies.

You forgot to mention that the Great Pyramid is an award winner, one unlikely to ever be surpassed, Worlds Tallest Building... for approx. 4000 years...

Looks like another skyline with a sea of cement highrises outside the core:

And for some variety, an interesting angle looking out from downtown Winnipeg:

Except that anyone with eyes looking at this very photo would not say that or suggest that the skylines of Toronto and Shanghai are similar in the slightest, save for you.

Your trolling iconoclasm might be interesting if you ever said anything that wasn't completely idiotic.
