one thing for sure.... they REALLY need to elevate Metro's stupid train... it is SUCH a pain in the arse trying to drive anywhere near the rail lines... who in their right mind would not elevate it in the first place?? that person should be fired... seriously...

I'm so glad Tom Delay and John Culberson can't inflict anymore damage to Houston transit growth. If Houston had a proper inner city light rail system, we'd probably see more mixed-use proposals and growth outside of the energy industry. |
For Houston, street level probably makes the most sense. Burying it is obviously out of the question and elevating it like Chicago and parts of NY seems like an uneeded expense. I've been to a few Dutch cities and they had street level trains like ours and they got along fine. Houston drivers are just brain dead. Metro had to paint the trains bright colors to stop people from driving into them.

This particular area of downtown (Market Square) has really blown up. A 700ft office tower and a 550ft highrise will compliment two other recently completed shorter highrises. Plus all the retail and several parking garages. |

Nice!
So many parking lots downtown need to go! Same as LA. |
Houston is worse than LA when it comes to dt parking lots
