Here are some new renderings for the new Intermodal terminal north of downtown bordering the Hardy Rail Yard development. Architect is Ehrenkrantz Eckstut & Kuhn.

That looks nice. I love the glass.

Here's another project just announced;

The Sterling at Memorial Villages
27 floors
166 residences offering senior living
prices start at $400,000
located at 1395 South Voss Road between Woodway and San Felipe

I am guessing the strip mall that used to house the Mr Gattis/Michael's Craft Store/Antone's Po-Boys is coming down to make room for this?

According to HAIF, it will be, but after completion of the main cathedral, maybe even years after. The church is suppose to be raising money for it.

Wow, I have to say the Intermodal looks nice. As it currently stands in the renderings, it doesn't look like METRO made "how cheap we can get it" the only priority. I actually like the design.

I also love the glass in both the Intermodal and the new Sterling proposal. I've been waiting on the day when Houston aggressively steps away from the beige stone trend that has plagued us for what seems far too long and longer than other cities. Now if we could just get away from the dreaded box format and add a couple of odd shapes to some of our new buildings.

texasboy Nov 14, 2006 6:33 PM

The intermodal definitely looks like more than I expected.

Translation: "No"

Thanks for the info. :) Wish it would have gone up. :(

Highrise condos are not the only sign that tells us there is something going on in a city. There is alot going on on in Houston.

Wow, we really think the Houston Pavillions is dead?

Houston Proud Nov 17, 2006 8:38 AM

I really do think the Houston Pavilions is dead. They keep on back dating it, making changes, now it's no residental for the project only offices, retail, and eatery.

Anybody know is the Pavilions still a go, and when they plan on breaking ground?

This goes the way of most other projects in Houston. Typical.
