^ Those renders are the design at the time of approvals, but these towers are always being refined. No doubt the finished product will be striking.

The diagonal pieces of terracotta and glass on the terraces are part of how the building deals with wind shear; the continuously set back terraces, I understand, are the main design element breaking up wind vortices and mitigating building sway, along with the TMD. When I first noticed the diagonal elements I thought how nice, Art Deco design:)
Compare and contrast with 432 Park's voids and CPT's chamfered corners. Very artfully done and the developer can market apartments with outdoor space to boot. I love this building. And now we get to watch Stern's 9 DeKalb rise. Good times. |
