So, not being from Memphis, I don't know the relationship between the city and the Univ. of Memphis. The Liberty Bowl from what I've read is owned by the city. So, if the city approves the funding that UM wants to do upgrades to the Liberty Bowl, who then manages the construction and installation of those upgrades? Just wondering since from what I've read the city hired a company to manage the Liberty Bowl. So, just trying to understand what role if any does the UM play in actual redevelopment in the stadium other than recommending upgrades and wish lists items.

When were the original renderings for One Beale released? 2004?

Some time around then, yep. Became a victim of 2008. Then the dad passed away who was the original project lead. Had to be scaled down from original.

Looks like there are a few bids looking to develop 100 N. Main.

Quote:

Developer Chance Carlisle had for many years been of the mind that the derelict skyscraper at 100 N. Main should be torn down.

"It's an iconic eyesore," he said in an interview with The Commercial Appeal Thursday.

But after a tour from the Downtown Memphis Commission, the current owner of Downtown's tallest building, Carlisle changed his mind.
