1. where did you find info that says that four seasons is 44f? i thought it was only 37? is it a new development? :banana: :banana:

2. i heard shin kong has been added to 21f. not sure if it's an older or newer info.

3. what is the yulon tower? is it a headquarter for 裕隆?

The Four Seasons is the Cathay project on A3. The info comes from Dialogue's issue on Taipei urbanism.

i like taipei gate, Takangpu MRT Station, and taichung concert hall the best. i hope they dont build yulon tower. it literally is "sick"...ugh.

Do you know what is being built in the Shin Yi Area? When you come out of the 市政府 MRT station, it's right next to you. I visited Taipei over the summer and it was walled with nothing built. I just went back 2 weeks ago and it's still like that.

i wish it would be another 50+ floor skyscraper, but it will probably be another low-rise mall or hotel.

There are actually two projects under construction at that site; 27F Uni-President Hotel and the 44F Cathay Landmark Building.

Sounds like a rebranding of the Mandarina Crown Hotel.

In any case, there are lots of upscale hotel proposals that have yet to see the light of day. It should be interesting to see if any of these get built.

Citibank Taiwan to Move Into Xinyi District

Taipei, March 20, 2007 (CENS)--Citibank Taiwan has decided to move its headquarters into the Walsin Lihwa building being under construction in Xinyi district of Taipei city following its completion in two years, giving a strong boost to Xinyi district in emerging as the new financial center of the city.

The building being built by Walsin Lihwa Corp., an electric wire and cable maker, is a 37-story building, located at the intersection of Songgao and Songzhi road, near the City Hall station of the mass rapid transit (MRT) system. The project is undergoing construction of its framework and is scheduled for completion at the end of 2008 or early 2009, when it will become the second highest building in Xinyi district, trailing Taipei 101.

Citibank Taiwan will occupy 6,000 to 7,000 pings (one ping equals 36 square feet) of space, over half of the building`s available space, while the building will be dubbed "Walsin Lihwa Citibank," in line with the practice of other Citibank branches in Asia, all of which have their logos put on their headquarters building. Citibank Taiwan will move from its existing site in Fubon building at fourth section of Renai road.

A Walsin Lihwa executive confirmed the deal yesterday (March 19), adding the company is considering to allow Citibank to put its logo in the name of the building.

Having secured the ultra-big client, Walsin Lihwa has raised the rental for the remaining floor space to NT$3,500 per ping, the highest in the region, even higher than NT$3,200 of Taipei 101.

Yang Wen-chi, assistant general manager of Taipei 101, admitted failing to secure the big client due to the inability to allow Citibank putting its logo in the building`s name. He, though, noted that comparison of Walsin Lihwa building`s rental with that of Taipei 101 is improper, since one refers to future price and the other to current price.

Citibank Taiwan will join the clustering of financial firms being formed in Xinyi district, which now accommodates headquarters of several leading domestic financial firms and 20-odd foreign financial firms, including Cathay Financial Holding, Chinatrust Financial Holding ING Antai Life Insurance, and Capital Group, in addition to the Taiwan Stock Exchange.

can u confirm the height of the Lihwa tower is either 37F or 27F?
cuz it is being said that the tw journalist HAS MADE the mistake again :hell: and the actual height of the tower is 27F according to the old version, instead of 37F :(
so i am just wondering if there is any way u can find out the real info about the tower
personally, i hope it can be the 2nd tallest building in Xinyi district, if that is possible...

The initial design by LCRA was for a 30F office tower.

The info on the height increase to 37F comes from local media (English & Chinese) and Repro.

The project may turn out to be only 27F, though I've never come across any evidence to support that claim.

hey that architecture firm LCRA is based in Pasadena where I am and only a few blocks walking distance from my apt!! I drive by their office all the time. what a small world we live in. ;)

their residential apartments and houses are pretty nice. i hope they've designed some residences in taiwan.

So what's the height on this project - 27, 30, or 37 floors?

If that is the case, then I am disappointed. The hotel is too old, they should demolish it and build a new one, not just remodel it.

Isn't Xinyi quite the spacious district compared to the rest of Taipei city!
