UA is also adding YYC-IAD, less than a week after WS announced it. Both routes start June 2.

DL does that too. When FI announced KEF-DTW, DL quickly announced DTw-KEF as well. They all do it. |

In a sense, IAD has quickly become a bloodbath from Western Canada going from nothing to 3 routes within a week. Going to be a interesting summer. Also, its nice to see the Star airlines still willingly to battle it out in YYC. |
Good for WS for stepping up and adding YEG service, it's about time. Granted, some of the transborder is just replacing DL, but still, they didn't have to do it. Certainly scored them points in Edmonton after years of adding YYC and nothing else. It was really a no brainer in that they are filling some DL vacancies and also strengthening other services. The domestic adds are nice too, even if limited frequency. But limited frequency route pairs have become more prevalent since COVID I feel like. Airlines are launching routes but starting conservative, even more than before (ie. AC's YYC-YXT at 2x weekly?! AC never ran Jazz routes like that before, sub daily was rare on any Jazz route).
Need to update my flight count for WS at each airport. Last time was in December and YVR overtook YYZ for 2nd place, but YYZ was ahead of YEG in 4th place. It would be crazy if YEG overtook YYZ for 3rd spot. YVR, YEG, and YYC all had significant additions (not just new routes, but restoring frequencies). YYZ was the only one that posted some reductions, and was barely mentioned in the whole article. These are the only YYZ items: Calgary – Toronto Increase from 81 to 84 weekly (Exceeding 2019 level) Toronto – Halifax Increase from 26 to 35 weekly Toronto – Las Vegas Increase from 7 to 12 weekly Toronto – Los Angeles Increase from 7 to 13 weekly Toronto – New York LaGuardia Reduce from 14 to 7 weekly Toronto – Regina Increase from 4 to 6 weekly Toronto – St. John’s NFLD Reduce from 14 to 7 weekly Toronto – Saskatoon Increase from 6 to 7 weekly Vancouver – Toronto Increase from 70 to 71 weekly With these changes, it is a net increase of 13 flights. And these routes were removed entirely: Toronto – Boston Toronto – Chicago O’Hare Toronto – Deer Lake Toronto – Fredericton Toronto – London ON Toronto – Quebec City Toronto – Sydney NS Don't know the frequencies on those, but seems like a decrease overall. |

It seems like Porter's new route YOW-YQB is entirely removed from the schedule. Is it already cancelled?

Looks like AC just zeroed out the following routes through March 2024:
YVR-PEK YVR-DEL YYZ-PEK YYZ-PVG YYZ-HKG YUL-PVG YVR-PVG will remain 4x weekly through end of April 2024. |

ATL-YUL is showing 1 mainline 220 and 1 E75 but YUL-ATL 2 E75 Same for YUL-BNA showing mainline going, BNA-YUL not even loaded yet, expect the days it was Jazz. Still lots to be fixed it seems. |

DEL and HKG are due to Russian airspace though. Quote:
YUL-BNA-YYZ YYZ-ATL-YUL But not the opposite direction. Maybe there's just more people leaving YUL for BNA, and return via ATL... or they just realized they didn't order enough A220 for all the routes they want to put them on. :D From last night's update, they removed about 90 weekly A220 flights from domestic schedule (through upgauge/downauge/consolidation, etc), so that should be enough to finish the changes, and maybe have some leftovers for YVR :D |
