I’m sure AC has a bit of room (or can get it by leasing a few planes). Looks like Sunwing has found alternative’s as well. I’d be more worried if it were start of the summer or winter season

The official summer season starts March 31st, were getting pretty tight.

Im curious what you mean by that comment?

Toronto-London is a highly competitive route and BA not even operating their own flights doesn't really send the right message as far as their willingness to compete and send their best product to win market share.

10 days for the fix to come out.

Let's see how long it takes to certify it.

Maybe they've conceded to the incumbents on that route.

Not sure if this route is being affected because of this specifically, but BA has been having issues with the RR Trent 1000s on their 787s recently, and because of this they've been swapping out some 787 routes with Air Belgium A340s.

ghYHZ Mar 16, 2019 10:44 AM

Exactly! BA is having issues with the RR Trents. Aircraft are also being swapped out to JFK.

Who’m are you referring too. AC being tight or WS? What I’ve heard from some peeps at WS they’re not sweating one bit. Instead of sending the 600’s to get refurbed (ie business class seats) they are sending the idle MAX’s. Which free’s up more planes and saves them costs of storing the Max fleet

Most of WS' Summer seasonal routes don't really start until end of April, including the TATL routes from YHZ.

What is happening with YYJ?

Also, Kelowna is +3% in January (181,729) and +2.9% in February (179,039)

Finally, why is St. John's airport so long for publishing its official 2018 passenger statistics?

Can anyone tell me about the transfer from transborder to international at YUL? I'll be transferring from a BOS-YUL to a YUL-Shanghai flight next month and I'd like to know what to expect in terms of time requirements / distance, as I've never been to YUL.

It'll be a breeze ! You will go through a dedicated connection center. When you go down the stairs towards customs, it'll be off to your left. No need to pick up bags.

As far as AC is concerned, YUL has the quickest US to International minimum connection time. A mere 40 minutes. That's less than YYZ, YVR, YYC, YOW, YHZ and YEG.

https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/...ion-times.html

https://www.admtl.com/en/guide/connecting-flights

Distance: 1000 ft at most. AC has the closest US gates to the customs, and PVG usually leaves from gates 50, 51 or 52. So again, very little walking past customs as well.

Looks like TS will put some of their A330s to good use. According to someone on airliners.net, AC301/302 YUL-YVR-YUL will be flown by TS as of next week.

Theyre putting their brand new A350-1000XWB on the route when they arrive. I think that says that your theory may not be accurate.

Wouldn't read too much into BA sending the A35J to YYZ. They probably picked YYZ due to it being a short flight. Same thing with DXB. This way there is plenty of down time in between flights in case of a snag or two during the first few months. Also, both YYZ and DXB are served by BA with multiple daily flights. Again, convenient in case of a snag with the A35J.

Also, the A35J doesn't have a first class, probably a primary reason why they chose not to send the plane to JFK or BOS.

When LX got their new 77Ws, they initially sent them to YUL, as it was their shortest North Atlantic flight. With the quick turnaround and early morning arrival back in ZRH, the plane could do a short haul intra Europe leg (for crew training and familiarization) before heading back to YUL.

Needless to say, you dont se LX operate the 77W to YUL today. Way too premium heavy.

Not saying it will be the same with the BA A35Js, simply illustrating that introducing a new frame requires some training and planning in case of snags. Destinations are chosen accordingly.

Swiss to look at launching YYZ, I would anticipate S20 would make sense, either an A333 if AC maintains service, or a 77W if AC stops the route, I’d say the former is more likely given AC’s history on YYZ-ZRH.

Your link isn't working. Here is a working one.

https://atwonline.com/airline-financ...cient-aircraft

2 77Ws to be delivered by the end of this year, with ICN, IAD and YYZ mentioned as possible destinations. I think it will be ICN and 1 North American destination. They would be the only Star A carrier on ZRH-ICN. Whereas YYZ and IAD are served via AC and UA, both of which have a JV with Swiss.

In other news, TAP reaffirms YUL for 2020. They were supposed to start LIS-YUL this year, but aren't due to A321LR delivery delays. They still haven't received their first frame.
