I don't think this has been posted - 1314 Franklin's retail site.

And thanks for the photos, MayorQuinbee!

Did Brooklyn Basin go taller or is this just conceptual?

Cranes up for 1310 Franklin and 250 14th St

Also, caught a nice glimpse of the two RAD projects up in Temescal along Telegraph and the Macarthur Commons which seem to be rising quickly.

In JLS, Fourth St East on Madison is also coming together quickly, and a new construction crane is up a few blocks away at 377 2nd St.

Will try to get some photos up soon.

Conceptual but it's very exciting to see it completed!

What are the chances of Brooklyn Basin getting built like that?

I always imagined the real solution to the Bay's housing woes would be clusters of towers like that. I think living in a place like that would be nice too, you'd be right on the water.

Eastline at 21st and Telegraph got an approval

Quote:

The Eastline development would encompass more than three acres, spanning the entire block between 21st and 22nd streets, and from Telegraph to Broadway.

The developer has offered two proposals — one that would create 1.5 million square feet of office space, and another that calls for building 880,000 square feet of office space and 395 housing units. Both plans would create as much as 85,000 square feet of retail space. ...

Fantastique! Wow. Downtown/Uptown already buzzes with multiple large-scale, high-rise construction. But should this project begin construction within the year, its very scope and scale will turn the buzz into a roar. One hopes....:cheers::shrug:

this sounds pretty good...

Quote:

With nary a word of opposition, BART has green-lighted a high-rise housing, office and retail development at its Lake Merritt Station that will probably completely transform the area around Oakland’s Laney College.

...
The goal is a transit-oriented development that includes a plaza and a pair of apartment and office high-rises — one 27 stories and the other 21 stories. One tower would be located on the old Metropolitan Transportation Commission headquarters site and the other on what is now the BART station’s parking lot.

In all, the plan calls for 519 units of housing, with 44 percent to be rented out at below market rate. About a fifth of the office space will go to local nonprofits.

...
One thing the development will not have is parking. The station’s 177 spaces are doomed to extinction...

Walked by the 1640 Broadway site on Thu and asked one of the crew what floor they’re on. He said 30, so 3 more to go for this one. It’s looking really good!! And there are four other mid-to-highrise projects well underway within 4-blocks going towards Lake Merritt. Then there’s at least 8 Residential projects underway in the Broadway & Grand Uptown Area with several more to come next year. There are two active building sites in the 2800-3100 blocks of Broadway but I don’t know what they are and saw no renderings for either. There’s a pretty deep hole for both, so I figure that indicates underground parking because both sites are on the narrow end of wedge shaped blocks.

1314 Franklin is coming out of the ground with rebar so it’ll start going vertical in the 4th quarter. A 40-story residential building in Downtown Oakland..WOW

If I can learn how to post pics here I’d be happy to do a monthly update for folks to keep up. There’s so much construction in the area within the boundaries of Jack London Square, 980, 580, and Lake Merritt. Will see what I can do.
