Observation tower on the pork mountain, in 1886 from the embellishment association Heilbronn after plans of Ludwig Eisenlohr and Carl Weigle by the Sontheimer foreman Eckert in the style of the Historismus from Sontheimer reed sandstone builds. The tower substituted for a wooden view pyramid which had already stood about ten years before there. The building was initiated on the 8th May, 1886 into presence of chief burgomaster Paul Hegelmaier.

The tower is at a height of 367 m about NN and is 20 metres high. Up to his point 114 steps are to be scaled. The pork mountain is the second-highest point of the today's city of Heilbronn. The Neckar Valley of the Heilbronn washbasin and the surroundings of Donnbronn is to be seen by the platform of the tower. Something hides recumbent observation tower is to be reached best of all from the close mountain Gaffen. In short distance there is the further undermentioned directional radio tower.

On the pork mountain several grave-mounds from the Bronze Age are received. The graves were investigated by the Heilbronn historian Alfred Schliz. Because most graves were opened, these not more like hills today look, but to the same craters. The grave findings got lost with the destruction of the Schlizmuseums with the air raid on Heilbronn on the 4th December, 1944. Similar graves on Heilbronn district are to the east of the Wartbergturms, to the south of the hunter's house, with the forest moor and in the old blade.

From 1874 to 1884 a wooden, pyramids-shaped observation tower of the embellishment association was on the mountain hilltop.
