Ha! And as I ramble an update appears! These guys are cool and leave the local developers in the dust. I'm coming back too, to make a good highrise you can be proud to call home. Just don't hold your breath!

Ricopedra May 16, 2019 5:13 PM

Sorry guys, I thought it would be clear as we're in the Highpoint thread. Wyku, just jabbing, man. The images in the screengrabs are bigger than I intended. Thanks, Echoes. Cheers.

end of month for sales to open??

It does look like they are wrapping up renos to the sales trailer. Haven't been able to get a good look inside, so not sure if they are dramatically changing the 'show suite' that was used for No1 Riverlanding or not.

roryn1 May 24, 2019 6:30 PM

Highpoint's changed all of their marketing so that it sounds like nothing will be sold until the fall now.

prairieguy May 24, 2019 6:54 PM

Yah....kind of mixed message on website that says "coming this Fall" and yet also encourages people to register for "launch coming soon!"

Ricopedra May 26, 2019 12:18 PM

Well, let's face it, we're entering the local vacation season and nobody with cash is hanging around. Everyone's at the cabin, minimum. Other's are in Europe and beyond. Makes sense to me to wait until fall for a big promotional push, when everyone's extra fat and well rested, thinking, "What's next?"

In the meantime the developers get everything just right...which never happens: A little 3-bedroom heavy? Maybe not, I haven't seen the floor plans. Locals love space, but I'd be interested in a 2 bedroom; 3 if I had money to launder.

Anyway, can't wait till this rises. It's going to be like living on a flat Saskatchewan! And remember that blurb from UC that they didn't do any original market research for RL1, and that if they had, they would've bailed?! Thus a big high-five to VM for their vision and dedication to the core, and...Thanks, UC/Toronto. Doh!

Just don't overthink it!

prairieguy May 26, 2019 1:30 PM

I have never heard that UC did not do a market/feasibility study and find that super hard to believe. A company of that stature and reputation had to of done their homework. Although, I do think the response to No1 took everyone by surprise!

You can tell that work continues on the interior of the sales trailer they have set up with the dumpster at the front door. I cannot wait....maybe I need to get a unit that looks down on the saltwater pool terrace and over looks the river and sweet does that sound!!! :D

Ricopedra May 26, 2019 6:18 PM

How super-hard to believe? Like 3 beers at my choice of venue hard once I return to Toon, if I provide the quote?>)

Ricopedra May 26, 2019 7:54 PM

Let me put it another way: Just the particle-board, tar-paper, chicken-wire condo-shacks erected in Stonebridge in the past few years could of built at least 6 River Landing 1's downtown. But they didn't choose the location. No one did. In walks VM with the land and a good idea and better deal for UC with tax breaks. Whatever the guarantee provided by VM, UC had little to lose in committing to about 100 units at the time. Yes, then everyone took notice. And back they are for an encore.

I'm thinking of a place on 20th, like 9Mile - is that what they're called?>) Maybe you can help me out, prairieguy;>)

PS, read a book or quote by Sir Richard Branson on how he feels out business ventures. I think he has a company of some stature and reputation, and he goes by his gut quite often. Cheers!

prairieguy May 27, 2019 3:45 PM

Ha, ha...wasn't calling you out....I just found it "hard to believe"....but if you want a brewsky sometime I am game.

Ricopedra May 28, 2019 4:43 AM

Sounds good! (I was sure flapping at the gills; looking for the quote now.) 2020 I'm afraid, though. By then it'll be looking pretty good dt and all the current projects should be underway, except one;>) Is Saskatoon getting any foreign buyers trickling in from Van or TO? Highpoint's a great investment, but hopefully snapped up by locals first.

Ricopedra Jun 8, 2019 6:26 PM

Highpoint's still my first choice, 'cause I think I could afford it. Prove me wrong, sales team.

YXE Jun 8, 2019 6:44 PM

The condo is currently scheduled for completion sometime in 2021.

YXE Jun 8, 2019 6:51 PM

Also on another note, I'm sure Highpoint sales were postponed because the group realizes they want to completely focus on River Landing before moving on to this project. River Landing isn't supposed to be filled with the owners until sometimes Mid July... I think??? One step at a time.

prairieguy Jun 25, 2019 9:36 PM

Urban Capital posted a pic on their Facebook page looking across river from Highpoint site. Hope this means some activity will be happening in near future....i.e. sales!!

ToonTownRob Aug 19, 2019 9:22 PM

The ads for this project drive me crazy. I’ve noticed that the wording has been changed slightly, but why would anyone think that a view from the top of the Broadway Bridge, even looking south is going to be a view of “prairies”?

It’s a city view in all directions folks. Even at the top floors you’re not going to get much of a prairie view.

prairieguy Aug 28, 2019 9:47 PM

Got an email message today from Urban Capitol indicating details on floor plans and launch weekend are coming soon in September!

And then there is the North Prairie "field of dreams" at College and!!!

prairieguy Sep 3, 2019 9:47 PM

Just got an invite to a 'sneak peak' evening of floor plans on September 18th. Requires and RSVP. Will let you know if I get any information from that evening!
