I think the solution is to let sections outside Euroscrapers go. Then we keep the necessary activity but get rid of all the unnecessary traffic at latiscrapers, african and asian sections.

The Mad Hatter Feb 11, 2007 9:32 PM

no they need to get rid of ll those extra forums that aren't about architecture, skyscrapers, and urban development....like skybar-travel-transportation etc.

wjfox2004 Feb 11, 2007 10:10 PM

No offence, but you guys don't have a clue.

Even if you deleted half the forums, it would make practically zero difference to the server performance...

Is Blacksun this bad?

Lost Island Feb 12, 2007 8:01 AM

That's exactly the reason why I come there...

They should split up the forums - would make them more manageable.

It works again!!

Zedferret Feb 12, 2007 10:37 AM

It works...but so slow, you know from experience it'll get worse before it gets better, work for a few months and then go tits up again. It truely is possible to love and loathe something at the same time.

rav Feb 12, 2007 10:54 AM

worked a bit yesterday, but still doesn't work anymore for me...

erwin Feb 12, 2007 12:14 PM

www.skyscrapercity.com doesn't work for me right now, but www1.skyscrapercity.com does!!

:haha:

This is getting out of proportions , nearly ridiculous

Alargule Feb 12, 2007 4:04 PM

And minutes became hours, became days, became weeks, became months, became years...

Grumpy Feb 12, 2007 4:07 PM

Exactly !

Why not shut the whole thing down for a week , fix the problem and restart.
SSC is the only site on the internet where problems occur nearly on a weekly basis, other much bigger websites have never problems.

Down for a week?

It reminds me something happened in the past :|

Mazepa Feb 12, 2007 5:06 PM

SSC was at one point down for two weeks, I believe, and nothing was permanently fixed.

Taller Better Feb 12, 2007 5:33 PM

SSP is not much better today. SSC impossible to access and SSP very slow.

Well, duh...those 'other, much bigger' websites usually belong to big, rich corporations spending millions on new servers and software. And even those go down every once in a while. SSC still is a privately owned web-site; the only income being generated by advertising revenues and whatever is left on Jan's paycheck...

Mazepa Feb 12, 2007 8:51 PM

It's working now, but it's painfully slow.
