Simple but elegant. It goes to show one doesn't have resort to elaborate designs to achieve something interesting and/or beautiful. The glass pattern and nod to art deco at the top works well imo. 8.5/10

I wouldn't mind one twice as tall with a few more set backs half way up.

Innsertnamehere Feb 15, 2015 4:59 PM

The floorplate is already tiny, you can't exactly fit many setbacks on this tower.

yaletown_fella Feb 15, 2015 6:37 PM

An extra setback around the 50th floor would be nice. Even a small corner indentation (like on Bay Adelaide West)

The grey glass looks suspect but renderings of the podium suggest quality materials.

I made a drawing of this tower: http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=105461
Toronto diagram: http://skyscraperpage.com/diagrams/?cityID=12 - near the end of page 2

Also, for Yorkville, I find the floor to ceiling heights very short on this one, I expected a much taller tower...

WhipperSnapper Feb 21, 2015 8:23 PM

Surprised how short it is. If the cheap design is of indication, the developer is attempting to squeeze as many floors as possible under a height cap.

This looks a lot like Toren in Brooklyn (pic from newyorkitecture.com).

Wow, it's almost a carbon copy! I do like this one. It's growing on me every time I see it.

Gresto Feb 22, 2015 5:21 AM

^It's just unfortunate it isn't taller.

For sure. If this was 250m say, it would have a very significant impact on the skyline. And not in a bad way.

hasn't the Liebskind building at Yonge and front already donw this window treatment deal?

No problem. I looked through Cruzinforyou's posts and noticed a lot of threads need fixing.

I liked the first one better.

TO's infatuation with balconies is puzzling at best, pathological at worst.

No photographic update today, but demolition is going quite steadily on thi project, excavation is nearing.

Nice, thanks. So much going on that little towers like this get lost in the muddle.
