Okay that one takes the cake for 7000 people! Even better than Yellowknifes 17 or 18ish thousand.

I'd certainly hope it would: it's a resort town.

Since these inevitably turn into "post your area/state/province's small skylines", I'll go all in for Michigan. I'd not consider any of these the best, but they are all definitely notable.

Battle Creek: ~53,000 (city), ~79,000 (UA), ~136,000 (MSA)

That aerial angle of Ann Arbor looks like you took a Sim City 4 Rush Hour city, and turned it into a real city. Especially with that block of property that is cleared-out and under construction. I have both been to and flown over Ann Arbor and it's a nice place without a doubt! Granted it doesn't have the largest skyline in the world, but it's still a fresh city with some coolness happening all the time it seems!! That's a great shot!

Obviously a resort town has advantages.

I sure did leave it out. Definitely a mistake, and you sure did jack those from emporis. The last photo is one I took. :D

Riverside is neither a small city, nor does it sit in a small metropolitan area, which is what the thread's stated intent.

Certainly agree with the above statement. That is just amazing and I mean that. Amazing!!!

fishrose Oct 30, 2009 4:17 PM

I'm surprised you included Battle Creek, LMich... I grew up there. It would have a pretty cool skyline if there was anywhere to take a photograph of the whole city, but there aren't any unobstructed views from a good angle.

I'm also really surprised you didn't include Grand Rapids!

definitely not the best in the world for a small city, but arguably one of the better ones in Canada for metros under 600K threshold.

that is, after Halifax, and perhaps Regina

It doesn't fit the specifications of the thread. Grand Rapids' metro is over 700,000, or slightly over a million, depending on how one wants to define it.

Are there any skylines that can match those of Gold Coast and Benidorm, and possible some of those Brazilian ones?

youngregina Oct 31, 2009 9:49 PM

I dont think the evanston skyline should be considered for this page. Considering it is part of the chicagoland area. and also considering it is served by the cta. I consider it to be almost like a neighborhood of chicago, rather than a city of its own.
