In much more important news to the West Loop Boom, 172 N Ada is in the middle of foundation work with a full complement of cassion rigs. This is the first major development in the West Loop that is significantly closer to Ashland on the Green/Pink Lines than Morgan. The boom is spreading West.

Lots of empty lots and buildings with good bones that could use some investment dollars out that way. Great news!

I would love for redevelopment pressure to finally start hacking away at the UC lots. There is good potential to make that neighborhood a small west side version of Wrigleyville, with a decent bar and nightlife presence already on Madison further east.

Yep, and in a few years we will have a brand spanking new L stop down there.

I can't wait till a ride on the Pink Line from Pilsen is full, block to block, with dense urbanity.

Of course, it will probably be a while considering the sea of asphalt around Costco and other suburban hell that the IMD people put up years ago

What is that going to be? I’m not familiar with that project.

I think he's talking about this lot?

^ Oh wow, I didn't even realize there were plans for that site.

Like the article says, it will really give some life to an otherwise dead corner. Too bad it'll be right across the street from Kinzie Park. What a POS that development is.

They looked to be drilling on the Cassidy side of the rail spur and not on the parking lot that Vornado owns.

Interesting!

The Vornado lot is a weird pie slice shape, maybe they’re looking to buy air rights from UPRR so that the tower’s parking podium can be a more efficient rectangular shape.

Nope, they are going to keep building all the way to Oak Park... Pretty soon Realtors (TM) will be marketing Garfield Park as West West Loop.

Maybe from both directions and "East Oak Park" will merge with "West West Loop"
