[Dartmouth] Boa Vista (153 Wyse Road) | ? m | 16 fl | U/C
The recently demolished Tim Horton's lot on Wyse Road at Dawson Street has a HRM Planning case for a new Tim Horton's with a drive-thru and a 12 storey apartment building on top.

Interesting. Great use of the land, but I hope they have an equally great ventilation system for all of those idling pickups in the drivethrough.
This is the first time I've seen a drivethrough configured like this - is this common in other places? https://i.imgur.com/KmoMVZZ.jpg?1 |
New Drive-thrus will be banned when the Centre Plan becomes law.

Why do urban planners hate drive-thrus?
Speaking of this area, I noted the two empty buildings up the street from the old Little Nashville on Wyse heading north (the former Harvey's and the buy & sell place next door) are both for sale. Combined, that would make a good lot for another new development with a bit of height. |
Construction permit has been issued for this site. 153 WYSE ROAD - 16 FLOORS - 114 UNITS - MIXED USE - $20.6 MILLION.

LOL... Tim Hortons history inter-woven with the history of Dartmouth! Sure, why not? :haha:
Great news that this project is moving forward. This neighbourhood stands to see the largest transformation of anywhere in the city over the next few years, if all of the proposals move forward. |
There is now two excavators on site and dirt is starting to move.

This was my Tim's for many years as a younger man. I don't miss it. It was tired when it was open then, and never got the updates all the other full-size stores got.
Will be excited to see this area in 10 Years. Will look a lot different from what I was used to that's for sure. |
This appears to be an updated rendering for this one from RoMa Developments. Looks like it not longer matches the original proposal and won't be home to an indoor Tim Horton's drive-thru.

I think it'll be fine, as there are still 2 Tim Hortons, and McDonalds in that exact area. We don't need more Tim's anyway. We need more local coffee.

It'll be left to us dinosaurs to remember it as the site of Nova Scotia's first Tim Hortons. As an idle nostalgic thought, anyway, not that it has any real significance. |
I keep forgetting it was the first one. That would give that site some more historical value. Perhaps we can get a Tim Horton cup "public art" placed there.
